The new Homewood Suites in Burlington, Vermont has been a welcome addition to the local community, as well as a source of pride for its owners: “Thank you LHK design! You truly helped make this hotel the most beautiful property in the Burlington, VT area! We have had so many compliments about the design and interior details.”
Our client had requested a unique design that would allow the new Homewood Suites to stand out amongst the area’s plethora of Suite style hotels. Our challenge was to maintain the Brand’s signature features and capture the rustic charm that defines this beautiful New England area. The final design concept reflects the many nature-inspired materials indigenous to Vermont. The local forested landscape inspired key focal points throughout the hotel, such as the stunning, custom-designed composition of pendant lights forming sculptural tree branches at the ceiling, with the “shadows” of these tree branches as a large scale pattern overlay in the carpet below. The “ebb and flow of light and shadow” create an experiential journey as guests transition from the central Lodge area to their guestrooms. The design of the guestroom suites integrates carefully selected textures, linear forms and natural colors inspired by the metallic finishes on the hotel’s exterior, adding a special warmth and character that provides guests with a truly tranquil experience.
Our design captured what our clients were looking for: beauty and functionality that would set their hotel apart. A comment on Trip Advisor said it all: “The décor throughout the hotel is just beautiful. Extremely well appointed, clean lines with a slight contemporary flair, yet very comfortable with that homey Vermont charm.”
